Miyazawa Flute - Vision
Miyazawa Flute - Vision
Tradition of Innovation
The history of our company is as colorful as our instruments. Rooted in excellence, Miyazawa strives to become a flute for life and a name for the ages. The Miyazawa flute is an instrument refined to the highest standards. With a Miyazawa, you will have complete confidence in your instrument and in the people who stand behind the name
The multiple handcrafted flute models by Miyazawa offer selection and customization to the individual flutist through a variety of metal choices, headjoint styles, and optional enhancements. The price of each Miyazawa flute that comes with a silver headjoint include the player’s choice of headjoint style, though Miyazawa headjoints are also available for separate purchase.
Miyazawa Flutes was founded in 1969 by Masashi Miyazawa. Mr. Miyazawa founded the company with a dream to create a better instrument. With his background in the design and manufacture of professional flutes, Miyazawa successfully brought together traditional craftsmanship with advanced technologies, a principle which still applies today. This dedication to the best of the old and the new gave birth to an instrument that exceeded even his lofty expectations.
In the mid-seventies, Masashi Miyazawa and American flutemaker P.L. West, collaborated to tailor the Miyazawa flute to meet the needs of North American flutists. Through their combined research and extensive analysis, many innovations resulted such as the formulation of new alloys, the widest collection of headjoints and the Miyazawa Improved Scale.
In 2005, Miyazawa introduced the Brögger System™. Designed by famed flutemaker Johan Brögger, the Brögger System™ features an innovative pinless mechanism allowing precise adjustments and balance of the spring tension of each individual key, resulting in a more even, effortless feel for the flutist.
The different customized hand-crafted flute models by Miyazawa offer a selection to each individual flutist through the variety of metals and head joint styles and enhancements.
Vision Series
Handmade flute with 958 silver tubing throughout. Open holes, French style pointed tonearms, Drawn toneholes and Straubinger Pads (US specification). Brögger System standard.
Head joint Cut:
MX-1: Characterized by a centered, focused sound that is easy to control. The dark harmonics result in a dense penetration that is consistent throughout all registers. With an ample amount of resistance, this style provides a solid foundation for articulation.
MX-2: Open sound with a tonal complexity that allows for a great freedom of expression. Full-bodied and responsive, while articulation is crisp and clean. Able to accommodate a high volume of air, this powerful style provides expansive projection with great stability.
MZ-10: Allows the player to put a large volume of air through the flute, achieving a rich and powerful sound. Characterized by plenty of lower partials anchoring the sound with a full harmonic spectrum. Flexible and responsive with a wide range of tonal and color possibilities.
THE ADVANTAGE
The Brögger System™ is the most advanced and stable mechanism design on the market. Available only from Miyazawa, it features an innovative pinless mechanism, which allows precise spring tension adjustments and balance for each individual key, resulting in a more even, effortless feel for the flute
